BOOK DISCOUNT: In buying books from the Palgrave Macmillan “Shaw and His Contemporaries” Series, the code to get a 20% discount is ISSGBC, but sometimes you have to order at particular websites, which you will be given an address for at a book’s first announcement . Occasionally the publisher will announce a special sale, with discounts up to 40% if you have the proper discount code, and you should consult emails sent to you by the ISS Webmaster as to where on the internet to go. Things change.

The following is out of date, but it’s recorded as part of the history of the ISS: the Code for Ordering Books in the UPF’s Shaw Series, WGB1, got you a a 40% discount when the series was still acquiring manuscripts. There are 19 books in this series, and most of them are still for sale at www.upf.com. Ask for the old discount, but you may not get it.

A 20% discount is available on books in the Shaw Correspondence Series purchased from the University of Toronto Press if one uses a prescribed order form, which is distributed at ISS meetings (symposia, conferences, etc.). You can try getting the discount by calling toll free 1-800-565-9523 or emailing utpbooks@utpress.utoronto.ca and mentioning that you are a member of the ISS and would like the ISS discount, but UTP for the moment seems to insist on your using the order form. Think of it as a reward for attending ISS events.

A discount on the registration fee will be available to ISS members attending Shaw conferences, and some discount on the registration fee at other Shaw events (such as symposia) where that can be arranged. This varies from event to event.
