ISS BUSINESS MEETINGS

Whenever and wherever the ISS meets, at conferences, symposia, etc., it is likely that a “business meeting” would be included in which conduct of the ISS would be discussed and, perhaps, the ISS Council or Executive Committee would be called to meet separately as well.  The frequency and character of ISS business meetings will be partly determined by circumstances, and you will be notified by email.   Obviously, in this day and age, and especially because of its far-flung membership, a great deal of ISS “business” will have to be conducted by email, newsletter, and other means. Because it’s never possible to get a quorum at these business meetings, votes taken at business meanings are advisory and not binding. Binding votes are collected by email.  To see the Minutes of past meetings, go to the members’ page:

For example:

The 2014 business meeting was conducted on July 29 at the Summer Shaw Symposium at the Shaw Festival in Niagara-on-the-Lake in Ontario, Canada.  See the link “Minutes of Past Meetings” on the ISS members page and to “Doing Shaw Now” on the ISS homepage for a summary of the initiatives that this meeting discussed and proposed.
