The only standing committees are
the Executive Committee and the Advisory Committee, which combined make up
the ISS Council. See “Articles &
Bylaws” for a description of how they function and are formed. To see a list

From time to time, as needed, ad hoc committees are formed to
evaluate proposals for papers and panels and applications for travel grants
and scholarships for whatever conferences, symposia, and other meetings the
ISS sponsors. When nominations for office are
needed and elections are conducted, the Recording Secretary is in charge of
proceedings and, if there are no nominations for a particular office, the
President may appoint an ad hoc
committee to assist the Recording Secretary in the nominating process. If there is only a single nomination for an
office, the President declares the nominee as elected without contest. |
